Donate by Mail or in Person

The Ellington Fund sends direct mail appeals that provide updates and highlights on the education programs and needs at the school. To join our mailing and/or e-newsletter list please email us at [email protected]. If you would like to make a contribution, please make your check payable to The Ellington Fund, 3500 R St NW, Washington, DC 20007. You may make a gift in person. We accept cash, check and credit card donations. The Ellington Fund office is open Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Donate through America’s Charities, CFC, or DC One Fund

The Duke Ellington School of the Arts (DESA) participates in the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) through America’s Charities. The mission of the CFC is to promote and support philanthropy through a program that is employee focused, cost-efficient, and effective in providing all federal employees the opportunity to improve the quality of life for all. To give through CFC, please use our number: 38270.

DC Government Employees can pledge support to Ellington as your charity of choice through the DC One Fund. The DC One Fund is a convenient tool for you to make a donation to the charitable organization of your choice through payroll deductions. If you have any questions email [email protected] with your agency’s name and they will respond with the contact information for your agency’s coordinator. To give through the DC One Fund, please use our number: 8586. The DC One Fund drive campaign will close on 12/14/18.

Matching Gifts

Many employers match an employee’s charitable donation to non-profit organizations. To take advantage of matching gift programs offered by your employer, please seek out the necessary forms from your human resources department or company website.

Planned Giving

Charitable gifts, current and deferred can help ensure financial stability of Duke Ellington School of the Arts while creating a legacy for you and your family. We accept many planned giving vehicles including trusts, annuities, insurance policies and bequests. Please speak with your financial advisor on planned gift options for Ellington. Community Events

Community organizations and supporters periodically host events to benefit the school. If you are interested in hosting an event to benefit Duke Ellington, please email us at [email protected] or call 202-299-5606 to discuss your idea.

eScrip

You can support Duke Ellington with every purchase you make at Safeway. By registering your Safeway Club Card through eScrip’s website, a percentage of your future Safeway purchases will be donated to Duke Ellington — a simple and great way to support our school.

In-Kind

Duke Ellington accepts in-kind donations including instruments, dance shoes, school and office supplies among other needed items. We also welcome in-kind donations such as catering for events, painting or other renovations for the building, furniture, design and printing, business services and similar items. If you are interested in making an in-kind donation, please contact us at [email protected]. Please note that the responsibility of the valuation of any in-kind donation is the responsibility of the donor, per IRS regulations. If you have additional questions, please call us at 202-299-5663. Student Performances

Ellington students are not only talented young artists but professionals as well. Our various ensembles (Jazz, Choir) and instrumental and vocal soloists are available for paid performances.
